Etiquette says one thing, I think differently. Isn't hiring a cheap man's thing to do? |
Welcome To A Site Dedicated ToMenswear Suit Hire & Formal WearDesigned as an educational tool using our 90+ years experience, our aim is to answer questions that you may need answering regarding suit hire or formal wear in general. With quality and price always fighting each other, our experience tells us that it is difficult to find what you want let alone justifying the cost. The modern wedding is a fantastic event but can come with a price. In addition it can be that as soon as a supplier hears the word “Wedding”, prices increase yet quality does not. Take a look at your wardrobe and ask yourself, what will I look like dressed up to the nine’s. Our experience tells us that around 60% - 70% of visitors to our showroom, who have convinced themselves that they won’t look right in morning suits actually end up completely suited and booted in, yep you guessed it, top hat and tails. Of course it can work the other way around but this is unusual. Moral of the story, don’t rule anything out until you have tried it. Why not? Click Here – see how fantastic you could look. Etiquette Says One Thing, I Think Differently. It is your wedding so do what you want. Of course this is the time to perhaps seek out the expertise of an established formal wear company specialising in suit hire or bespoke tailoring. Do be careful though as a lot of less experienced companies will “sell” to you based on lack of knowledge or indeed product. As an example, Brown Wedding Attire has completely dominated our trade in 2007, 2008 with 2009 looking equally as popular. Every day our sales team hear of competitors almost ridiculing their potential client and questioning their desire for Brown. Guess what, they do not stock Brown so try and “gently persuade” you to go in a different direction. Moral of the story, don’t be bullied, find and have what you want. Within the formal wear suit hire industry, as you find with any retail situation, you have cheap, average and “exclusive”. A major point to remember using any service let alone menswear hire is that it is just that, a service. Yes there is a product to be used but if this is backed up by bad service then hey presto, problems. We feel that the service part of suit hire is as important as the product. Moral of the story, the lower the price, the less service you will receive. Ok so cheap isn’t good, then what? Say you spend £100 on a pair of shoes for wearing to the pub, why would you then buy a pair of shoes that would cost only £20.00 for your wedding. This seems to be what happens in the suit hire game. People who take pride in their wardrobe end up wearing iffy quality goods that frankly do not fit perhaps saving £30-£40 in the process. We feel that as it is your wedding you should have the chance to wear even better quality garments for your hugely important day. This is why only the best fabrics and fits are used. Moral of the story, it is your wedding so treat yourself. Click on the links below to see some of the companies we use to supply us. Wilvorst :: William Hunt :: Ozwald Boateng :: Hudson :: Grenson & many more. This is a biggy. There are very few independent companies who actually carry a range that is unique. All too often they use the same waistcoat or suit companies offering the same products nationwide. Then you have the “big boys”. A high street offering useful for weddings whose family and friends are spread over the country, we would say beware. All to often you are greeted by inexperienced staff that are simply not trained in the intricacies of suit fittings let alone colour schemes. Then if you are being offered the same goods that you could find anywhere, you may end up looking like “that bloke that hired his suit”. Yes we have all heard the comment. Our aim is to counter every negative that can be addressed to the hire trade. Quality of service, quality of product, quality of communication and quality of price versus service is an absolute must and we strive for nothing less. Moral of the story, choose wisely. Price is important but do not force yourself into using a service that could cost you more in time and heartache. A good mindset is this. If mistakes happen or a suit doesn’t fit anymore, can the company deal with it? If you choose a company with comprehensives stocks on the premises then the answer is probably yes but do you feel confident in them not to make mistakes in the first place, a very good question. Choosing a branch of a national or a small department within a bridal shop or the likes may not be wise. These situations are often “agents” for larger concerns thus using the services of others to fulfil your order. This is when the fun begins. Suits don’t arrive from the warehouse, suits don’t fit, and accessories are the wrong colour and so on. It happens a lot, can the store solve the problems or are the staff that bothered. Moral of the story, don’t be afraid to ask any company what they do if……..? We are very passionate about what we do and are immensely honoured to help with weddings. With years of experience we feel it only correct to pass on any tit bits that may help irrespective of whether you choose our services or those of another company. We know that we cannot attract every couple and understand that other companies may have exactly what you need. As an experienced company we know of the good companies and the bad. Therefore if you really are stuck then feel free to contact us. We can, in confidence, offer you advice that will hopefully steer you in the right direction. Click here to email your enquiry.
